Prenatal yoga is an approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental and physical centering and focused breathing. Prenatal yoga is safe and can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies.
Research suggests that prenatal yoga can:
* Improve sleep
* Reduce stress and anxiety
* Increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth
* Decrease lower back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms, headaches and shortness of breath.
Prenatal yoga can also help you meet and bond with other pregnant women and prepare for the stress of being a new parent.
Lindsey and her family moved to Lake Mills from the Milwaukee area 3 years ago after having their first child. Seven years ago Lindsey decided to start her journey with yoga teacher training. She studied through a program in Grafton for 18 months and finally graduate with her RYT. Lindsey had taught and taken both regular yoga classes and pre natal classes in Milwaukee for the past 7 years. After the move we Lindsey and her family were looking for some classes for their two year old so she could interact with some children her age and Lindsey could meet some moms. Lindsey and her Family soon joined the RLAC after their daughter, Isla fell in love with Miss Jess's music class. After the birth of their second child Lindsey's desire to get back into teaching yoga grew. She reached out to the RLAC about some pre and post natal classes, originally hoping to just take some at first. She soon found out there was a desire for classes in our community. This is where Lindsey's story of teaching yoga began in Lake Mills. Lindsey also enjoys hiking, traveling, and taking adventures with her two kids and husband
